Municipality of Heraklion wireless network-your mobile Internet connection

The municipality of Heraklion wireless network is an effort of the municipality to offer its residents a broadband service is completely free. Using WiFi technology devices, such as laptops, mobile phones and tablet computers, you can connect to the Internet when you are within range of the service.

The wireless network serves the city, indoors and outdoors. Covered central city squares, main roads and some more remote locations.  The points covered by the network can be seen on the map below.

The Heraklion wireless network expands then, and there are plans for even more coverage in the near future within the city but also to regional points.

For to connect to the network, simply activate the WiFi on your device and select the network with SSID: municipality_of_heraklion. To give equal opportunity for everyone to enjoy this service but to prevent abuse of the service, there is a daily connection time limit on the network and speed limit.
