From the most important monuments of the area, the Church of St. George has probably built on ruins of an older church, on the site of the ruined settlement already so Kaimenos' referred to by second Byzantine period.
The aqueduct bridge of Agia Irini is the largest construction in the entire length of the Venetian Aqueduct Morosini which carried water to the city of Heraklion.
In the natural landscape of the former municipality of Temenos dominates the massif of Rocas, almost in the center of the space. A Hill with two peaks, opened like a pomegranate in half (as poetically says in the 16th century the Venetian engineer Basilicata to visit and depicts the area). The highest peak of Roka, rises to 507 meters.
